What is the org structure of The Bond?

The Bond, Inc is a non-profit trade association of individual investors. Our members vote for a volunteer Board of Directors, who in turn vote for volunteer Officers, who in turn manage the operations of The Bond.

Our investment fund is an LLC that is managed by The Bond, Inc.

Who are currently serves on the board and as officers?

See our founding board. Members will have the right to vote on who leads in the future.

What do the membership fees cover?

The Bond Inc. is a non-profit organization. However, it does require a paid staff, and incurs typical operational expenses to meet our dual objective of engaging members and startups.

What’s the 3% fund fee used for?

The Fund LLC will have legal and accounting costs for over the course of its expected ten year life (because startups take a long time to mature). The fee helps cover those costs. For example, we will retain a one-time, up-front fee of $300 for every $10,000 to cover those costs.

What’s the Carried Interest used for?

The 5% carried interest will be split 50-50 between our paid Executive Director and The Bond, the organization.
